PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given to the electors of Bowen Island Municipality that nominations for the offices of:
MAYOR – one (1) to be elected
COUNCILLOR – six (6) to be elected
MUNICIPAL TRUSTEE FOR ISLANDS TRUST COUNCIL – two (2) to be elected
will be received by the Chief Election Officer or a designated person, as follows:
From 9:00 am Tuesday, August 30, 2022
To 4:00 pm Friday, September 9, 2022

Originals of faxed or emailed nomination documents must be received by the Chief Election Officer by 4:00 PM Friday, September 16, 2022.
Nomination forms are available at Municipal Hall until the close of the nomination period at 4:00 PM on Friday, September 9th.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE
A person is qualified to be nominated, elected, and to hold office as a member of local government if they meet the following criteria:
- be 18 years of age or older as of general election day;
- be a Canadian citizen;
- be a resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months before the nomination date
- not be disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from being nominated for, being elected to or holding the office, or otherwise be disqualified by law.
