We're closed over the holidays
Bowen Island Municipality is closed for the holidays as of December 24th at 12 pm. We'll be open for regular business on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. There's an emergency number to call for things like water or sewer main breaks, and dangerous debris or fallen trees on a road.
Determination of Petition Against results for Tunstall Bay Water System
The results of the Petition Against process from the Notice of Intent for the Tunstall Bay Water Reservoir have been determined.

Bowen Island Municipality intends to borrow $655,530 from the Municipal Finance Authority to fund a capital improvement of a new treated water reservoir tank to service the users of the Tunstall Bay Water System.

New building regulations in 2022
Bowen Island Municipality has adopted an amendment to the Land Use Bylaw, in Bylaw No. 528, 2020. These changes will come into effect on January 1, 2022 and will include changes to definitions used in Building Permit Applications, including changing definitions for Lot Coverage, Floor Area, and Average and Finished Grade calculations.
On-island composting is coming to Bowen
Bowen Island Municipality is thrilled to announce that an application for funding of an on-island composting facility has been approved through the Clean BC Organics Infrastructure and Collections Program.
2022 Regular Council meeting schedule
Council has set its meeting scheule for 2022. Regular Council meetings are scheduled at 6:15 PM on the second and fourth Monday of each month, unless a statutory holiday falls on that Monday, in which case the meeting is held on the Tuesday following.
BIM moving forward with construction of Community Centre
Bowen Island Municipality has issued a letter of intent to award the construction contract for the Community Centre to Golden Globe Construction Ltd. for $14.4 million, bringing the total project budget to $18.7 million. Preliminary site preparation is anticipated to begin in January, 2022.
