Eagle Cliff Drinking Water

Eagle Cliff Drinking Water

Eagle Cliff residents have noticed that their tap water is increasingly discolored over the past few weeks.

Both Bowen Island Municipality (BIM) and Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) have been on site to inspect, take samples and test the water.

They found that the water is sufficiently chlorinated to kill bacteria and viruses, but UV treatment could be improved, and that was attended to right away. However, neither of these treatments address the colour of the water.

BIM is committed to ensuring that drinking water is safe and accessible to the Eagle Cliff water users.

In addition to daily and weekly water testing, BIM Staff and VCH Officer continue to investigate and monitor the Eagle Cliff Water System and will keep residents informed

There are short term and long term solutions.
